On the subject of DDLs

I've been meaning to post about this for a while now, but Masoukishin II stopped me. As you know, our DDL releases were on Megaupload (Mega, mega, upload) and they are gone now. I haven't yet started to upload the episodes elsewhere because I'm waiting for it to become clear which DDL services are going to stick around in the aftermath. If anybody else wants to upload the episodes somewhere right now, you can do it (not that I could stop you even if I wanted to).

I decided to wait for 2012 to announce the good news: Sardien has confirmed that he is alive, though it sounds like the subninjas turned his life into a harem comedy. I hope we can push out a release or two some time soon.

Oh, and although Macross is getting all the attention, it's also Xabungle's 30th anniversary this year! A fitting year to finally finish subbing the show.

Update on the delay

You are probably wondering why there hasn't been a new episode of Xabungle in a while despite me having the translation for the next episode done already back when we last released something. Well, it's simple: I haven't heard from Sardien since then and although as the timer he is the easiest part of the team to replace, I really don't want to. Not at this point. We've come this far together and I want to finish the show together with him. We're a team. I know this is unfair to you guys and I can't say anything more than that I'm sorry. If I hear nothing from Sardien until the end of this year, I'll find somebody to replace him. I haven't stopped translating episodes, so the next three episodes are already done and I've started working on the one after those as well. This means I should accomplish my goal of translating the rest of Xabungle by the end of the year, even if we haven't successfully released all of it. Once again, I'm sorry about the delay and I hope it'll work out soon.

Wow, I have no idea how we ended up not getting any episodes out since November. The next break shouldn't be as long as that, since I'm already working on the translation. Oh, and people from /m/ might remember me mentioning a SECRET SPECIAL MEMBER that's been helping me and Sardien out with this episode. Some of you may have guessed this already, but Denkou is back! Oh yeah! He's now doing essentially the same work I did back when he was the primary translator.
